Cement Walls, Brakes, and Power.
Well, I spent the evening finishing up the brakes on Tony's car. Well, so I thought. I got the wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and hardware installed on both sides. Got help bleeding the brakes (up, okay. down, okay. up, okay. down, okay. Anyone who has bled brakes knows all about that one!) and put the wheels back on. Checked the front brakes and they looked just fine. Went for a road test, felt good, then whoosh, the pedal went to the floor. Felt like a line broke. I limped the car back to its parking spot and peeked underneath and saw brake fluid oozing all over the back right wheel. Too dark to see where it was coming from. Guess I have a little more work to do on them before he leaves for school on Monday.
Now, the exciting part. I have cement walls! Not just forms, but forms filled with cement! Woohoo! Holy Crap! Yowza! In about a week things are really gonna get busy for me!
Talked to the ConglomoPowerCompanyMan on Wednesday morning. We have a plan to get the electricity to my land. Last spring I talked to ConglomoPowerCompanyLady and she said my best bet would be to run the power down the road on power poles because it would be too expensive to bury the wire. ConglomoPowerCompanyMan told me I can do it a few bucks cheaper if I go under ground. He wrote up the estimate so I can send them a check. (They apparently don't do anything unless paid first) As soon as Snort comes back to backfill the foundation, ConglomoPowerCompany can come and hook up power. Well, they will hook up the power as long as I have the service panel and meter pedestal installed.
I'm thinking things will get a bit more exciting soon so stay tuned.
