John's Random Semi-Conscious Thoughts

Right now this will be a blog of the trials and tribulations of getting a house built. Also, there may be the occasional ramblings from the goings-on within my head.

Smacked!

Finally! I got all the concrete wall ties smacked off that need taking off. The only ones left are the ones that will be buried in the garage and outside the garage. The ones inside the basement get clubbed off so I don't injure my noggin by bumping into them. The ones outside needed to come off so the tar could go on the wall and also the insulation all along the outside of the house.

Here is a lovely shot of the tar on the outside of the house. I'll hopefully get a shot uploaded that has the insulation installed.

InspectorGadget showed up sometime today and left his stamp of approvall on for the foundation and the plunger's work so far. Now hopefully snort will come back this weekend and backfill the foundation. Then I need to call ConglomoPowerCo to get them to hook up power to the house.

In the mean time I believe that the CreteHeads want to come and put in the basement floor before the walls and roof go on. I guess that would be much easier than doing after walls go up. I hear that the framers want to wait until the power is hooked up before theys start working. I guess they aren't too thrilled about using a generator.
