John's Random Semi-Conscious Thoughts

Right now this will be a blog of the trials and tribulations of getting a house built. Also, there may be the occasional ramblings from the goings-on within my head.

Doors

Talked to RobTheBuilder this morning. He says the insulation inspection is going to be done today. If that is the case, then they'll for sure have the entry doors on the house before that happens. Those particular doors got delivered yesterday. Still no word on the big garage doors.

BrotherJoe and I spend a good chunk of the day on Sunday building some shelves inside the stairs that go from the garage to the basement. Having shelves there will add to the paltry amount of storage this house will have. First thing Monday morning BuilderTroy finished assembling the steps.

Someone has been plowing the driveway. Not sure who it was until last night when I stopped at the house and BuilderTroy was still working. I asked him and he says someone RobTheBuilder knows has been doing that chore. Not sure how much that is costing me but it is nice that the driveway has been kept clear.

I've been told again that the BrickGuy will still be showing up on Wednesday. As soon as he does the chimney we can have the fireplace ducted out of the building and then can burn some wood to get heat in the house.

Still no word on when WellDiggerGuy will show up. Do they not put well/water into the house until it is closed up enough to not freeze in the basement? I just don't know what the answer to that question is.

I plan to stop at the house after work tonight to get some pictures of the insulation and whatnot so hopefully by this time tomorrow there will be a new picture.

I'm still checking the Net for a tractor. Or two. I'd like one big enough to do snow removal (something like an AC WD45 or Farmall M) and one small enough (perhaps an AC B or a Farmall Cub) to attach a belly mower for lawn mowing. Each time I find one on ebay it is either way too far away or goes for way too much money. It appears Wisconsin prices are higher for old tractors than other parts of the country. Guess I'll just keep looking.

Don't forget TAR is on tonight. Maybe that horrible Weaver family will be thrown in jail for being a-holes. I can't imagine the world will be that lucky, but we can all hope.
