A week of zero progress
Well, heard from Rob the Builder on Monday. He said the concrete clowns called him on the 5th and said that it would now be 10 to 14 days before they can show up. Apparently they don't move any faster than they want.
Went boating a few times lately. Ran into a slight problem with BrotherJoe's boat on Saturday. We noticed the transom had quite a crack where the motor mounts. That's not a good thing. We were all the way across the lake so we ended up puttering back to the dock. That was the end of our fun for that day. BrotherJoe took the boat to a transom fix-it man and that guy gave a price to fix the transom. After taking about a tenth of a second to decide, BrotherJoe decided to fix the transom himself. If nothing else he figured to put a temporary fix to get thru this summer.
On Sunday noonish BrotherJoe came to my little town to pick up my engine hoist so he could pull the motor off of his boat. Since I had loaned out my engine houst to BigD we had to stop there and pick it up. That was no problem. Sunday evening BrotherJoe got the motor off and assessed the situation.
I went to help BrotherJoe on Monday evening get the temporary fix installed. After getting some sheet aluminium, angle iron, and uni-strut put into place, this may very well be a permanent fix. I think the motor is supported better now than for the last ten years at least.
Went back to town to go boating on Tuesday after work. Our fix worked slicker than cat poo on a linoleum floor! Kudos to us.
Well, off to work now. Keep safe out there people!
